Can you help identify the purchaser of a suspected stolen bike sold by Cash Converters Camberwell

June 13, 2020 By Brad Kellas 1903 Stolen Bikes

The Victoria Police are hoping to identify the purchaser of Giant Anthem sold by Cash Converters Camberwell in May this year.   The bike has been identified by police to match PV 21127 stolen from an apartment garage in Collingwood on 6 April 2020.

If this bike is a match to PV 21127, the purchaser will have every right to seek restitution from Cash Converters, who from past experience have been quick to remedy the situation.  Keeping good records starting with a receipt is critical, especially if the stolen item is identified years after!

If you or anyone you know has inadvertently purchased stolen property from a second-hand dealer or from a private seller and it is listed as stolen on our website, get in touch and we will assist you as much as we can.

Reward Offered

PropertyVAULT will provide a BIKE ID KIT+Family Pack, which includes DataDot Microdot Technology (RRP $99.95) for the first person that can assist the police to find the purchaser and recover the bike.  Like always, if you have any information about the 20,000 + stolen bikes, boats, motorbikes and cars on our platform, please leave a message via the MAKE A REPORT tab found on each stolen post, or alternatively contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Stolen property never has a clear title

Outstanding stolen property never has a clear title until it is returned to the owner, regardless of how many times it is onsold.  There are exceptions when the victim/owner abandons their rights and when an insurance company becomes the rightful owner after an insurance payout.  The insurance company in this instance then becomes the legal owner and has full rights to the property.

Buyer Beware

If you are buying second-hand property, whether it be a bike, where there are in excess of 25,000 stolen annually in Australia and less than 10% recovered, you need to be careful and conduct thorough due diligence before handing over your hard-earned cash, as you may find you not only lose your new asset but also your money!

Below are some tips that will help you to avoid buying stolen property.  Click on the individual links below for information pertaining to the specific assets:

Protect your bike and your ownership

Don't settle for just a bike lock, choose a premium VAULT lock and ID KIT bundle, and not only secure your bike, but secure your bikes ID and your ownership for life.

Help put bike thieves & black market traders out of business

Bike theft is driven by the lucrative black market trade, aided by lacking bike identification, insufficient recording, and the inability for the public prior to BikeVAULT to check if a second-hand bike is stolen when advertised for sale.

Register your bike identification and your ownership in the VAULT for free and help us put the black market traders out of business an end targetted bike theft!

Not just bikes – You can now register all your assets vulnerable to theft in the VAULT, including your pets that commonly go walkabout!  Check out our bespoke custom registration and stolen forms designed by asset identification and recovery experts.
